Buying a ticket. Part 1.

As it is with everything else in life, when planning a trip, you must start from the very beginning. However, in the following case, the beginning isn’t always coming up with a destination. Of course, that is also an option but then you will be limiting yourself to only one thing. What I would recommend is to always have something in mind but to also give yourself the chance to explore other possibilities.

So, everything begins with looking for a plane ticket. Naturally, there are the well-known sites like Skyscanner. Or the different airline websites where you can look for promotions and sales. Tip №1 would be, if you’ve chosen a destination and you’re periodically looking at the websites, to start checking them from different browsers or search engines where you haven’t agreed to the cookies policy. You can subscribe to those engines and receive personalised notifications. There are also websites like Fly4free and Holidaypirates that follow and filter through many promotions and cheap flights. Usually those send you to a website where you can buy a ticket at the cheapest possible price. Tip №2: check their different language versions because prices sometimes differ. Of course, it is always a good idea to compare these prices and the ones the airlines offer because sometimes the price difference is tiny but many people feel more secure buying directly from the airline.

For holiday destinations you can often find good deals in larger travel companies like Tui or their subsidiary like Tuifly (other  useful links: Neckerman, Thomas Cook)

Cuba

The best tip (№3) my mom and I can give you is to involve yourself in a travel-related forum. There people are always very nice and helpful, many of them have travelled around the world and have made many connections with local people or other. They also incessantly post about cheap tickets and many promotions, or you can even arrange to travel with other people from the forum. This is actually where my mom fuels her passion for travels – her favourite forum Magelanci.
