Finding accommodation

Of course, after you’ve bought all your tickets, the next logical step is to book accommodation. However, before you go forward with this step, it’s advisable to do a more detailed research on the city you’re staying in. So, don’t just book the nicest cheap place you can find. Find out where the airport is and how to get from there to the city center or a hot spot for public transport. Research all the places you want to visit, what buses, trams or trains go there and where else they go.
If you’ve planned to visit another city that is farther away, find out how to get there and where the train/bus station is. Basically Tip№1 is, aside from comfort, what you should look for is convenience. Whether it’s more convenient for you to be close to the city center or where there is more landmarks and cultural heritage sights, or whether you need to be close to a train/bus station for easier transportation to other destinations.

For example: when my family was in London, we stayed in the city for 4-5 days
and we had our hotel in a convenient spot so we could see many of the attractions in London
And for my trip to Lyon it was important to be close to the station (because I had a lot of luggage)
where you can get a bus to the airport, but also the subway to the city center.

A lot of people often look for hostels, but I am going to give you some information about finding a flat or a hotel. Useful websites are Booking.com and Agoda.com (the latter often has more and better offers for Asia). You can also look for flats in Airbnb, Homeaway, Travelmob, Flipkey or other similar websites. Tip№2: use websites like Trivago and Hotelscombined to compare prices (the results are not always accurate because other fees and taxes are sometimes excluded).

My last Tip№3 is to always, always, always look for reviews! Look for reviews about the accommodation but also about the host/company. It is important to contemplate booking if a certain host is known for cancelling stays. And finally, be sure to check that all your must-have requirements (ex: personal bathroom, included kitchen, balcony, etc.) are met.
