Invest in your dreams, not in sofas.

As most of my friends know, my mom takes me on some pretty wild trips that she actually manages to plan all by herself. For example, here’s me casually posing with a shark in the Dominican Republic.

Cool, right? Unfortunately, every plane ticket that she buys pulls my family further away from investing money in something that we really need – a new sofa. We moved into our new flat ten years ago. Everything was new and shiny, except for the sofa we brought from the old flat. It’s old, squeaky and worn out. I don’t envy anyone who comes to visit and decides to stay the night, as they have to sleep on it. And the back pain the next morning... oh, the back pain.
I asked my mom once why we never got to saving up for a new sofa. She looked at me like I was crazy “And what? Miss going to Thailand?”

(here’s her and my dad in Thailand)

This blog is for those of you who have been saving for a phone, a computer, even a car. For those of you who've always had this amazing destination at the back of their minds but instead end up with an iPhone for Christmas. It’s for those of you who need a little push to forget all the material things that you “need”. This blog will instead inspire you to feed your mind and your soul with wanderlust adventures to faraway places where you don’t need a phone, Wi-Fi, or even… a sofa.
I’ve conducted several very detailed interviews with my mom in order to make this blog. In the following posts I will try to help you plan your trip from A to Z. I will provide many useful links and a lot of insight from an experienced traveler.
Those who are interested can read her stories about Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Thailand and Cambodia, and Bali. To my regret, what she’s written is only in Bulgarian but if there is interest, I could translate some parts of them in English.
